Punkin' Chuckin' & Bowling

On Saturday we went over to Moab for the Pumpkin Chuckin Festival. They had several different types of launching mechanisms for chuckin' the pumkins. It was pretty cool, and fun to see but there was a long time delay between each launch, making it hard for the kids. There was also game booths that we did. After the festival we went bowling with our friends Tim and Autem and their kids. It was fun, although I don't think any of us bowled over 100 points.

Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins was really fun this year. Ethan and Ally were both really into it and really excited to help. Although you can't do much with a butter knife, they still had a great time.

The Big Kill

Javan and I both had deer tags this year. Javan shot this 4 x 3 on opening morning out at Gary's. We had been watching a bigger buck and they were all walking single file into some trees, the big one in front. When we could see them again Javan shot the first one. Guess what? Wrong one! They must have switched places in the trees. It was kind of a disappointment, but still a nice buck.
I shot my deer out at Spring Creek. We were walking down the road to get to a tree stand and this buck stood up right across the wash, I just knelt down and shot him, that's right, for the first time in my life I shot and killed a deer in one shot. That's just the way I roll. (Or I just got lucky.) Who wants jerky?

My First Post

I have had a few friends and family show me their blogs recently and it looks kind of fun. I thought I would try it. So here we go.
